New Children’s Building on Main Campus
Individuals and families alike will find a warm and safe place to connect, learn, play and grow in this new space of approximately 40,000 square feet that will provide more space for fostering community, as well as for achieving our goal of meeting the needs of PBC’s growing children’s ministry.
More than 30,000 square feet will be used to provide an interactive, fun, and safe learning environment for children from age 3 through 6th grade. Small group classrooms and large group theater spaces accommodate every age, allowing teachers to creatively communicate God’s timeless truths.
Safety is a key component in our new design. From the time they are dropped off to the time they are picked up again by their parents, children will never have to leave the secured teaching area for their age group. Security features will not hinder the fun aspects of the building such as the Kid Pix Store or Soft Play area, but will provide parents an ongoing confidence that their children are growing in an environment that is as safe as it is exciting.
Our building’s experience is not only for the young. Parents will immediately appreciate the clear and intuitive design. Entries to the teaching areas will all be efficiently located in one central hub, dramatically reducing the walking distance between children’s drop-off areas. Ample corridors and lobbies will guide families easily through the building, even when crowds are bustling. And when children choose to linger and play, the grown-ups can easily watch them and still enjoy community in a relaxing setting.
Space to encourage connection and building of community will be even more pronounced in the new Atrium. This bright, light-filled space will not only connect the new Children’s Building to the current Worship Center Lobby, but it will serve to create a true “heart” or “town square” to the PBC campus. The current steep, “subway” stairs from the lobby into the Worship Center will be replaced with a graceful new stairway in the Atrium to improve circulation between upper and lower levels of the current main church lobby.
Adjoining the Atrium, renovations in the current building will provide for a more efficient gathering space before and after worship services and for a much larger bookstore/café area. With these improvements and the new Atrium, people can gather in small or large groups, fellowship, drink a cup of coffee, find a good Christian book, or celebrate a baptism service at the new baptismal pool – all while building the community of Pantego Bible Church.
